The dataset was adopted from a website and a magazine that contained the songs of the well-known band, Queen. This dataset was presented to participants to test if they could aurally detect any Japanese words from the data. The results are comparable to those of a previous study of native speakers of English, showing that phonetically similar segments cause perceptual reinterpretations. The results also suggest a particular feature of nonnative listeners. They tend to interpret what they hear at face value because they cannot compensate for phonological reduction(s): speaking/listening strategies of native speakers such as coarticulation and deletion. From an experiment, we also obtained the results that Japanese listeners tend to isolate Japanese words from English songs where the same vowels are shared in both languages and where the structure of a syllable and a mora are matched. In EFL contexts, listening learning usually focuses on differences between sound features, but the results of this study suggest that common phonetic features also deserve attention.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_10002_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"identifier_registration","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15018/00001026","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_10002_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"成蹊大学","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"}]},"item_10002_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0388-8835","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_1710996587908":{"attribute_name":"item_1710996587908","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00126709","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_1720066799756":{"attribute_name":"出版タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_1720422722709":{"attribute_name":"その他 資源タイプ","attribute_value":"Article"},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"open access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"NAKATA, Hitomi","creatorNameLang":"en"},{"creatorName":"中田, ひとみ","creatorNameLang":"ja"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-08-21"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"ippankenkyuhoukoku-50-2_1-16.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1.4 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"objectType":"fulltext","url":"https://seikei.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/2001295/files/ippankenkyuhoukoku-50-2_1-16.pdf"},"version_id":"9bbefe0f-128a-4b7f-b2db-664e1d1b03e2"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"English songs","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Japanese listeners","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"lyrics","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"phonetic factors","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"compensation","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"item_resource_type","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Hearing Japanese Words in English Songs : Mondegreen Phenomena by Nonnative Listeners","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Hearing Japanese Words in English Songs : Mondegreen Phenomena by Nonnative Listeners","subitem_title_language":"en"},{"subitem_title":"英語の歌詞が日本語に聞こえる : 非母語話者の空耳現象","subitem_title_language":"ja"}]},"item_type_id":"40001","owner":"43","path":["1710726295850"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2018-08-21"},"publish_date":"2018-08-21","publish_status":"0","recid":"2001295","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Hearing Japanese Words in English Songs : Mondegreen Phenomena by Nonnative Listeners"],"weko_creator_id":"43","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2025-02-21T05:47:59.154905+00:00"}
